The 2016 Service Star individual and team winners prove the value of strong relationships
In 2015, PLANSPONSOR introduced a new awards program: the PLANSPONSOR Service Stars. The awards recognize retirement plan account representatives and relationship managers who, in the words of their plan sponsor clients, have demonstrated truly exemplary service over the past year.
This year, the award was expanded to include service teams as well as individuals. The seven individuals and four teams profiled on the following pages were chosen by the PLANSPONSOR Surveys and Research team, who sorted through a couple thousand nominations and comments plan sponsors wrote while taking the 2015 PLANSPONSOR Defined Contribution (DC) Survey. There, sponsors singled out their reps by name and gave examples of specific instances where that individual or team went above and beyond just “great customer service” to provide the support the sponsors needed to ensure their plan was working satisfactorily.
The Service Stars were chosen for excellence, in a range of service areas such as helping with plan conversions and plan audits; working through changes to investment menus; and creating retirement plan communications. Although these might sound like standard fare, the stories the plan sponsors told were clearly not—many faced extreme versions of so-called routine events or tasks.
We were thrilled that the Service Stars were able to join us in March for the PLANSPONSOR/PLANADVISER Awards for Excellence dinner in New York City—it was great to meet them in person. Congratulations to those selected!
