April 24, 2014 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – Seth Perretta has joined Groom Law Group as co-head of its Health and Welfare practice.

In addition, the following individuals will be joining the Health and Welfare Group, which specializes in various benefits matters: Allison Ullman as a principal; Malcolm Slee as counsel; and Sravya (Via) Boppana as an associate.

Perretta has extensive experience providing counsel to large insurers, trade associations, and third-party administrators regarding the implications of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (or ACA). His experience also includes advocating before various federal agencies, including the Departments of Treasury, Labor and Health and Human Services, on behalf of trade associations and other entities with respect to the ACA. Perretta’s practice also encompasses qualified retirement plans, executive compensation arrangements, federal income and employment taxes, and other issues impacting health and welfare benefit plans.

Ullman, Slee and Boppana also have extensive experience counselling clients on the ACA, and on design and compliance issues for the full range of employer-sponsored benefits and executive compensation arrangements.

“Health care reform presents unique challenges to our trade association, insurance company and large plan sponsor clients. Seth and his team bring a range of expertise that complements Groom’s existing team of health care lawyers and demonstrates our commitment to serving our clients and staying out in front of regulatory and legislative trends,” says Jon Breyfogle, the other co-head of the firm’s Health and Welfare practice.
