TUESDAY TRIVIA: What Is the Other Name for the Game of Rock, Paper, Scissors?
Most likely, you have used the game of Rock, Paper, Scissors to make some decision in your life—especially when you were a child.
What is the other name for the game Rock, Paper, Scissors?
Some people call the game Roshambo or Rochambeau.
There is a theory that it is called this after Comte de Rochambeau, a French nobleman who helped defeat the British during the Revolutionary War. However, there is no proof of this link between the game and his name.
According to the World Rock Paper Scissors Association, www.wrpsa.com, versions of the game originated in China as far back as 1600 before spreading to Japan, where it was called “Jon Ken Pon.” The Japanese game eventually spread to Europe in the early 20th Century and made it to the United States by the 1930s.
