September 16, 2013 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – There is no penalty for failing to provide health insurance exchange notices to employees by October 1, according to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).
Reported by Rebecca Moore
In a Q-and-A, the agency says: “If your company is covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act, it should provide a written notice to its employees about the Health Insurance Marketplace by October 1, 2013, but there is no fine or penalty under the law for failing to provide the notice.”
The guidance also offers model notices for employers to use.
