AXA Equitable Hires Sales Leader for 401(k) Unit

November 30, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company announced Richard Frink has joined the company as its 401(k) national sales manager.

Frink is responsible for leading the sales and business development of AXA Equitable’s Retirement Gateway401(k) product to AXA Advisors, LLC – the company’s retail distribution network of approximately 5,000 financial professionals nationwide. His focus is on helping AXA Advisors financial professionals grow their business through 401(k) product education, coaching, sales support and service.   

He will also be responsible for launching third-party distribution of Retirement Gateway nationally (see AXA Equitable Launches New 401(k) Solution).

Frink will report to Mark Scalercio, senior vice president and head of AXA Equitable’s Employer-Sponsored business. 

Frink has more than 25 years of experience in the retirement plan market. Most recently, he was national marketing director, Retirement Plan Services for New York Life, where he spent the bulk of his career. 

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Long Island University. He also holds the FINRA Series 6, 26 and 63 licenses.

Dow Jones Launches RBP U.S. Small-Cap Index

November 30, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – Dow Jones Indexes launched the Dow Jones RBP U.S. Small-Cap Index, a gauge designed to measure the performance of 100 top-ranked small-cap stocks based on average fundamental scores and RBP (Required Business Performance) probabilities supplied by Transparent Value, LLC.

The Dow Jones RBP U.S. Small-Cap Index is the latest addition to the Dow Jones RBP series of quantitative strategy indexes offered by Dow Jones Indexes and Transparent Value, LLC, a New York-based asset management and financial information services company. 

Stocks eligible for the Dow Jones RBP U.S. Small-Cap Index include the largest 750 equities in the Dow Jones U.S. Small-Cap Total Stock Market Index that pass screens for minimum free float, stock price and trading volume. Factors considered for stock selection are return on equity, free cash flow yield, asset growth and RBP probabilities. The index is RBP-probability weighted.

The Dow Jones RBP U.S. Small-Cap Index is reviewed quarterly, and on an on-going basis for unusual events such as delistings, bankruptcies, mergers and takeovers. Calculation began on November 30, 2011. Back-tested historical data for the index have been calculated daily back to December 31, 1998, with a base value set at 1000.
