Raitt Tapped as Oakmark Funds President

December 30, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - John Raitt has been named president of The Oakmark Funds, according to Harris Associates L.P., the funds' investment adviser

Raitt, 49, is currently Harris president and chief executive officer. He previously served as the firm’s research director for five years and was a research analyst. Raitt also held the additional title of chief operating officer from September 2001 to December 2002. He has been with Harris Associates since 1986. Raitt was also an investment officer at The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, responsible for private equity and fixed income investments. He has a BA in Economics from Williams College and an MBA.from Northwestern University.

Completing a transition that began earlier in the year in 2003, on January 1, 2004, Raitt will succeed Robert Levy, who currently serves as Harris chairman and chief investment officer.
