Online Job-Hunters Seek New Skills, Training

December 10, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Brushing up on a professional skill or going back to school for a higher academic degree are still the keys to getting an edge in a struggling economy, a survey of online job hunters shows.

Those were the answers offered by 83% of Monster.com users in the Monster Meter survey. Seventeen percent of those responding said they were comfortable in their current job.

To help those trying to add professional skills, Monster.com recently unveiled MonsterLearning ( www.monsterlearning.com ), a site to manage learning as it relates to advancing careers.

MonsterLearning Search, a new product on the MonsterLearning site, provides a search engine for career-related training.

The results of the current Monster Meter are based on votes cast by Monster.com users from November 26 to December 3, 2001.
