Combs Nominated as Asst. Secretary of Labor
March 20, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - President Bush
plans to nominate Ann Laine Combs to be Assistant Secretary
of Labor.

Combs is currently Vice President and Chief Counsel for Pensions and Retirement at the American Council of Life Insurers and has served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor for Pension and Welfare Benefits in the Reagan and Bush administrations. Following that six-year period, she was a principal at William M. Mercer before joining ACLI.
Combs currently serves on the American Benefits Council’s board of directors.
She is a graduate of Notre Dame University and received her J.D. from George Washington University.
