American Express Offers PIN-Less Enrollment
Plan participants will also be able to enroll in their 401(k) plan through several mediums, including:
- The Internet
- Voice Response
- Participant Service Center
Without requiring the use of a personal identification number, or PIN.
American Express is also rolling out a new Web feature that will let participants change their personal identification number (PIN) online.
PINs have traditionally been mailed to employees when they become eligible to join the plan, but some may lose the number, or may want to join at a later date. The new process requires only their Social Security Number, date of birth and zip code.
The new “PIN-less” enrollment capability will be available to clients that allow paperless enrollment for their plan. Once enrolled, a PIN number is mailed to the new participant for other types of inquiries or transactions requiring a PIN (interactive voice response and Web access registration).
