Do You Think the Social Security Payroll Tax Cut Is a Good Idea?
A two-month extension of the reduction of Social Security tax withholding from 6.2% of an employee’s pay to 4.2% was signed into law by President Obama on December 23 and, at press time, news reports were saying Congress was close to reaching an agreement to extend the tax cut through the end of 2012.
