Cover “Story”

The original notion behind the topic of this month’s cover story goes back more than a year, perhaps two. Having long been interested in the notion of benchmarking, and in the notion of providing some kind of idea of what a "normal" (if not reasonable) fee was for plans of a particular size, I was intrigued when I first stumbled across BrightScope—but what drew my respect was not only the scope of their efforts, but also the scale.
