Heralding Change
The caduceus, a staff entwined by two serpents in
the form of a double helix, surmounted by wings, is sometimes
used as a symbol for medicine (the more accurate
representation is the rod of Asclepius, which has only a
single snake and no wings, and is the symbol of the American
Medical Association).
