IRS Tool Teaches Employees about 403(b)s
August 25, 2009 (PLANSPONSOR (b)lines) - The
Internal Revenue Service has created a 403(b) retirement plan
mini-course for employees.
Reported by Rebecca Moore
The mini-course is presented as a conversation between a human resource representative and a new employee. During the presentation, the new employee asks, and the HR representative answers, common questions employees may have about the plan.
The course explains the benefits of participating in a 403(b) plan and the different features a 403(b) plan may offer. The presentation also covers limits on different contribution types, requirements for loans and hardship withdrawals, and distribution and tax rules.
