Former CT Treasurer's Bail Revoked, Turns Himself In
Silvester, 39, admitted to repeatedly contacting Lisa Thiesfield, one of his former aides, in violation of the conditions of his bail, which barred him from contacting other defendants – Thiesfield is one of five – in his corruption case, the newspaper reports.
The former treasurer, who has been cooperating with the authorities, had been out on bail since pleading guilty to racketeering and money laundering charges in September 1999 and admitting that he accepted kickbacks from companies in which he invested state pension fund money (see Former Connecticut Treasurer Settles Kickback Charges ).
Silvester is yet to be sentenced, and will be credited for any time served beforehand, according to the report.
