Watson Wyatt Taps Two for Leadership Roles
A Watson Wyatt news release said that Gene Wickes was tapped to be global director of benefits consulting, while Sylvester Schieber was named US director of benefits consulting; both appointments are effective immediately.
According to the announcement, Wickes will manage the firm’s benefits consulting business throughout the world. Schieber will lead the firm’s retirement and health care consulting practices in the United States.
The Denver-based Wickes, mostly recently the global and US director of retirement consulting, joined Watson Wyatt in 1996 and has a BS in mathematics and economics, an MS in mathematics and an MS in economics from Brigham Young University.
Before the latest appointment, Schieber was the director of Watson Wyatt’s Research and Information Center in Washington, DC. Schieber, who joined the firm in 1983, holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Notre Dame.
