Laudato to Head Newport BOLI Business

July 27, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Newport Group has announced the appointment of Anthony Laudato as Vice President and Chief Actuary, leading the firm’s bank-owned life insurance (BOLI) line of business.

Laudato will be responsible for building on Newport’s presence in the bank and financial institution marketplace, providing asset management and insurance services designed to minimize banks’ administrative burdens, and help maximize investment returns and mitigate risk. He will report to Bryant Kirk, Newport’s Chief Operating Officer.

Laudato comes to Newport from Clark Consulting, where he served as senior vice president and chief product officer. He has also held leadership positions at Lincoln Financial Group, including director and actuary of individual life insurance, second vice president and senior actuary, and chief actuary of the executive benefits division. Laudato received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut. He holds FINRA Series 6 registration, and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Newport’s BOLI business has experienced significant growth recently, and we expect that to continue under Tony’s leadership.”
