EBSA Provides COBRA Subsidy Publications
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provides for a 65% reduction in COBRA premiums for certain assistance eligible individuals for up to nine months (see H.R. 1 Contains COBRA Provisions ). The EBSA site provides the definition of assistance eligible individuals and links to documents explaining the new law.
The site also includes links to information for employers and employees in Spanish.
Employers should act now to implement the new rule as the subsidy is available immediately (see Employers Must Act Now to Comply with New COBRA Law and Stimulus Provisions Mean Payroll Considerations ).
The EBSA publications are at www.dol.gov/ebsa/COBRA.html .
