Diversified Upgrades Defined Benefit Site

March 5, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Diversified Investment Advisors has beefed up its Web site to give defined benefit participants access to more information about their plans and its potential accrued benefits under a variety of scenarios.

A news release from the Purchase, New York-based plan provider said that because of the upgrades to its Diversified Direct Online site, participants can enter information such as salary scale, retirement age, and optional annuity forms to find out their benefits.

According to the news release, among the enhancements are :

  • The site provides information on the relative value and financial effect of various annuity options.
  • Information resources such as a summary plan description, benefits statements and plan related forms that allow participants to initiate their benefit application online can all be found on the enhanced site.
  • A resources tab provides access to a variety of educational materials, videos and retirement planning calculators.
     

“The retirement planning industry has automated many processes associated with defined contribution plans but historically has not automated processes to the same extent on behalf of its DB plans,” explained Patrick Kendall, vice president and national practice leader of defined benefit and 401(k) markets at Diversified, in the announcement. “Just like many familiar technological features available to DC plan participants, the improved functionality and greater disclosure now available on our DB site are intended to help all participants plan, invest and make more informed decisions for their retirement years.”
