BIO: Kelsey Moore, TPA and client strategist—retirement plans, has been with Ameritas for the past three years. She was inspired to enter the retirement planning business after witnessing the success of her mother in financial services.
Kelsey Moore, a third-party administrator (TPA) and client strategist of retirement plans, takes a disciplined approach toward serving her clients. Ever since she interned with Ameritas in college, Moore says she appreciated the importance of recordkeepers’ roles in working with retirement plans and their participants, and began pursuing designations to help her do her job better (QKA, CLU, AIF, etc., i.e., Qualified 401(k) Administrator, Chartered Life Underwriter, Accredited Investment Fiduciary, among others).
Her client, People’s Food Co-op, cited her work in helping keep the organization’s plan census data straight during the pandemic, when it was dealing with employee turnover and staffing freezes that Kim Ingalls, human resources (HR) manager at People’s Food, said “caused confusion on eligibility.”
“I wanted to give major kudos and a shoutout to Kelsey Moore,” Ingalls notes. “I joined People’s Food Co-op in December 2019 and over the past (crazy) months, I have had a lot on my plate—many learning opportunities and hurdles to jump through as I work through a new position, including COVID-19, a recent 401(k) audit and Form 5500 filing. Kelsey has been a tremendous help in getting our organization on track with our 401(k) offerings and made wonderful suggestions—and in response to her suggestions, we have added automatic enrollment, launched a smart campaign and changed our plan to allow 401(k) enrollment after 60 days of employment vs. one year. Kelsey has been instrumental in assisting us and helping be the middle woman when I don’t know who to contact.”
