Buck Consultants Appoints Principal

Hopper, who will be based in the company’s Berwyn, Pennsylvania office, will manage a number of key client relationships as the lead retirement consultant. He will also assist with local business development activities and serve as an adviser on pension risk management.

Hopper joins Buck Consultants from Mercer after spending 25 years in the Philadelphia office. As partner, Hopper was a founding member of Mercer’s U.S. Financial Strategy Group, which was established to integrate the firm’s asset and liability expertise to provide multidisciplinary defined benefit plan risk management advice.

“Jerry’s proven expertise in pension risk management and skill in business development will be instrumental in helping to further develop Buck’s retirement and investment business,” said Steve Brown, Buck’s Philadelphia market leader.

Hopper earned his bachelor’s in mathematics from Penn State University, and is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and an enrolled actuary (EA).
