Burger King Worker Files Strip-Searching Lawsuit
According to an Indianapolis Star news report, the employee was working part time in December 2001 when a caller claiming to be a policeman investigating an employee theft of a purse called the restaurant.
The caller instructed a supervisor to force the teen to remove her clothes and then search her. The caller was asked to describe the girl’s hair color and length and her tan lines, the newspaper report said.
The news report said the suit alleged that part of the search was conducted in front of a male co-worker and in a room where other workers could observe.
According to the newspaper, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission investigated and determined there was cause to believe the teen was discriminated against.
