Conference Board Sees Job Market Up Slightly
January 31, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The nation's
job market may have improved slightly in December, but is not
nearly back to its level one year ago, The Conference Board
said.

The Conference Board’s Help-Wanted Advertising Index crept up by one point in December to 46, still way off December 2000’s reading of 78.
In a press release, the Conference Board said that help-wanted advertising dropped in all regions during the fourth quarter, with the worst showings in the East North Central, Mid-Atlantic, and Mountain regions.
Each month, the Conference Board surveys help-wanted advertising volume in 51 major newspapers nationwide.
