DIRECT-ED – Hancock To Offer Self-Directed Brokerage through DLJdirect

August 8, 2000 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - John Hancock Retirement Services will offer self-directed brokerage services to its 401(k) clients via an agreement with DLJdirect, the online brokerage service of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

Participants will be able to trade in stocks, mutual funds, and IPOs (for qualified investors).  Participants will also have online and wireless account access, as well as real-time quotes and news.

John Hancock provides plan administration services to approximately 1,370 companies, with more than 155,000 participants.
