DOL Webcast to Discuss PPACA Compliance

September 10, 2013 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – The Department of Labor (DOL) will host a two-part webcast this month to assist employers in complying with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).

Employers who must comply with the PPACA, as well as third-party administrators (TPAs) or insurers with questions about the law and related guidance, will be able to hear from the experts and ask questions. 

Part one of the webcast is on September 17, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. EDT. Speakers from the DOL will provide information on the final wellness program rules. Representation from the Department of the Treasury will discuss the employer shared responsibility provisions.

Part two will take place on September 18, also from 1 to 2:30 p.m. DOL speakers will provide information on the Notice to Employees of Coverage Options under FLSA 18B and the full implementation of key market reforms. Included will be: the extension of dependent coverage to age 26, lifetime and annual limits, and prohibitions on pre-existing conditions. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will discuss the new Health Insurance Marketplace and Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP).
