EBSA Schedules COBRA Webcast
An EBSA news release said thetwo-hour Webcast is designed for employers, third-party administrators, and other benefit professionals that must comply with the new provisions under the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA).
Participants in the Webcast alongside the Labor Department are the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service. The session will highlight the new COBRA provisions and provide assistance in complying with the new requirements, including the model notices and the tax credit.
The new requirements were in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and included premium reductions and additional election opportunities for continuation coverage.
The event is April 6 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. EDT at www.dol.gov/cobra . Registration is required.
