Employees Say 'No Thank You' to Boss' Job
October 13, 2008 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - A new survey
developed by OfficeTeam shows the average worker has no
desire to fill the boss' shoes.

More than three-quarters (77%) of employees polled said they would not like to have their managers’ jobs, while one-in-five said they would. In addition, according to a press release, 60% of respondents said they do not think they could do a better job than their bosses, but a third think they could.
In general, workers 18 to 34 years showed the most interest in their manager’s position (32%) and were more likely to believe they could do a better job (43%). Men were more inclined than women to want their manager’s job (32% versus 10%), and also more likely to think they could do better (38% versus 30%).
Survey results are based on telephone interviews with 602 workers, 18 years of age or older, and employed in an office environment.
