Employees Take Advantage of Creative "Perks"

December 28, 2000 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - While some of the more unusual workplace "perks" are still relatively rare, employees do seem to take advantage of them when offered, according to a new study.

For example, while just 29% of American companies offer “healthy” lunches or dinners, 84% of their employees partake of the benefit, according to the survey by Oxford Health Plans cited by the Wall Street Journal.

Looking for a quiet place to meditate? Thirteen percent of employers offer them, and over half (55%) of their employees use them.

Health club memberships are on the menu at just 18% of employers, but nearly three-fourths (72%) of employees at those firms join up according to the study.
