Exchange-Traded Fund Assets Up 25.7% in 12 Months
June 30, 2008 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Assets of all
exchange-traded funds rose in May by $14.36 billion, or 2.4%,
to $610.31 billion.

Over the past 12 months, ETF assets increased $124.80 billion, or 25.7%. Assets in domestic equity ETFs increased $60.08 billion since May 2007, and global equity ETFs assets rose $45.49 billion during this period, according to the Investment Company Institute (ICI). Assets of bond funds were $43.45 billion and hybrid funds were $170 million.
During May, the value of all ETF shares issued exceeded that of shares redeemed by $3.21 billion. In May 2007, ETFs experienced a net issuance of $5.44 billion.
