Findlay Confirmed as Deputy Labor Secretary
Currently a partner with Sidley & Austin in Chicago, Findlay served as deputy assistant to the president and counselor to the chief of staff in the president’s father’s administration from 1991 to 1992.
He also served as counselor to the transportation secretary from 1989 to 1991, and was at the Department of Transportation at the same time that Labor Secretary Elaine Chao was deputy secretary for transportation, according to the Bureau of National Affairs.
Findlay also has worked as a law clerk for US Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and for Judge Stephen Williams on the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
Findlay is a graduate of Northwestern University. He received a master’s degree from Oxford University and a law degree from Harvard University.
