Former BofA Chief Forms M&A Firm

October 9, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) ? Recently retired Bank of America Chairman Hugh McColl, 66, is back in business ? forming McColl Partners, a boutique mergers and acquisitions advisory firm.

Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, McColl has teamed up with David Vorhoff, who was with Bank of America Securities’ healthcare group, and Eric Andreozzi, former head of packaging and forest products M&A with Bowles Hollowell Conner/First Union Securities, as part of his staff of 14.

McColl spearheaded nearly 100 acquisitions in his nearly two decades at the helm of Bank of America and its predecessor companies.

McColl Partners will focus on small to midsize companies with annual revenue of $125 million to $250 million. The firm plans to focus on the “sell” side ? advising businesses selling divisions or entire companies in the health-care, banking, packaging, technology and energy sectors.
