Griswell to Chair Principal Financial Board

November 28, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Principal Financial Group's board has elected J. Barry Griswell, the group's president and chief executive officer, as chairman.

Griswell, whose appointment will be effective at the start of 2002, replaces David Drury, who has held the position since 1995.

Griswell joined the company in 1988 as agency vice president. He became senior vice president in 1991 and executive vice president in 1996. In 1998 he was appointed president, and was named CEO in 1999.
