Illinois Restaurants and Night Club Sued by EEOC
September 30, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is suing Papa T's restaurants in Burbank and Evergreen Park and Papa T's Night Club in Midlothian, Illinois.
Reported by Rebecca Moore
The SouthtownStar reports that the commission said as many as 11 female employees at the businesses were harassed, and one woman who complained about the harassment was fired. Named as defendants in the lawsuit are J.D.J. Restaurant Inc., Papa T’s Pizza & Pub, J.W. Saphire Inc., Papa T’s Night Club, and Papa T’s Fine Italian Cuisine Inc.
The EEOC said its investigation “revealed that numerous female employees at Papa T’s were subjected to abusive verbal sexual comments, sexually derogatory remarks, touching and physical threats, all by the owner,” according to the news report.
Randy Spears, Papa T’s owner, is not named individually in the federal lawsuit, and was not available for comment to the newspaper. You Might Also Like:
