K-TRADING – AMEX Offers Online Trading For 401(k) Plans

August 2, 2000 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - American Express Retirement Services has introduced online trading for self-directed brokerage accounts through American Express Brokerage.

The expanded service will allow participants to trade online at a reduced commission rate.

Eligible participants will now pay $14.95 for up to 3,000 shares per trade, and $0.03/share for each share greater than 3,000. Trading through the brokerage window previously cost $44.95 for up to 3,000 shares/trade.

Participants can also access news, research reports, financial planning tools, mutual fund prospectuses and account history at www.americanexpress.com/retirement .

Online trading may not be immediately available for all self-directed accounts, according to American Express.
