Ken Sperling Rejoins Hewitt Health Care Practice
Sperling will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of Hewitt’s global health management consulting business and expanding Hewitt’s health care presence and solutions in key regions around the world, according to the announcement. He will also take an active role in Hewitt’s thought leadership development and public policy efforts.
He will report to Eric Fiedler, president of Hewitt’s Consulting business.
Sperling was a leader in Hewitt’s U.S. Health Management practice for 17 years when he left in 2005 to become the Senior Vice President of National Accounts at CIGNA HealthCare. At CIGNA he was responsible for developing and executing a business strategy for the large employer segment. Most recently, he was the Senior Vice President of CIGNA’s Senior and Retiree Services division.
“This is an unprecedented time in health care, with reform discussions in the U.S., a challenging economy, and a growing need for global improvements in workforce health and productivity,” said Fiedler, in the announcement. “Ken’s experience on the large health plan side and his past achievements here will be valuable as we help our clients around the world navigate their health care challenges.”
