KPMG International Names New Chair

May 15, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The KPMG International Board and Council has tapped Mike Rake as its new chairman, replacing Stephen Butler.

Rake, who will also serve as chief executive office of KPMG’s UK operations, heads the firm’s 100,000 partners and staff operating in 150 countries.

Rake will also retain his position as chairman of the UK firm and will head KPMG’s international network of firms, with more than 100,000 partners and staff in more than 150 countries.

He was made UK chairman in 1998 and chairman of European operations in 1999. He has 36 years of accounting experience.

The company also named Robert Alspaugh, as chief executive officer of KPMG International. Previously, Alspaugh was deputy chairman and chief operating officer for KPMG LLP, the US firm.
