Mercer Names Director of Public Funds
January 29, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Brian
J. Birnbaum, has joined Mercer’s investment consulting business as director of
public funds.

Jeff Schutes, U.S. leader of Mercer’s investment consulting business, said in a news release that Birnbaum will focus on developing all aspects of Mercer’s public funds business including consulting strategy, risk mitigation, and further development of intellectual leadership in this area.
Birnbaum joins Mercer in Chicago from Credit Suisse, where he was director of the investment consulting services team within the firm’s family wealth management group. Previously, he specialized in public fund consulting with Ennis Knupp + Associates.
Birnbaum received his Bachelors in Business Administration in Finance from Loyola University Chicago.
