Neuberger Berman Introduces Long Short Fund
The fund provides investors with a long-short investment strategy that seeks long-term capital appreciation and principal preservation, and is available with daily liquidity at a minimum investment of $1,000.
The fund employs a fundamentally-driven investment approach with the flexibility to invest long and short. Its bottom-up, all-cap approach seeks to invest long in attractive businesses with strong management teams and compelling valuations. Short investments are utilized to seek increased returns or provide “insurance” to manage exposure and reduce risks.
The fund’s managers may invest in fixed income securities and in equities of both U.S. and non-U.S. companies. The fund seeks both long-term capital appreciation and principal preservation, and may serve as a complement to traditional equity and fixed income strategies.
The fund is managed by Charles Kantor, an 18-year investment industry veteran who is a managing director at Neuberger Berman and leads the firm’s Kantor Group, which invests approximately $850 million for individuals and institutions.
“We always seek to provide our clients with a total return investment strategy that is characterized by continuous risk management and an emphasis on preserving capital,” said Charles Kantor. “We view this fund as a natural extension of our core investment principles and are thrilled to have this approach available to mutual fund investors.”
