NYLIM Names New Head of Retirement Services

October 4, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM) has hired former E*Trade executive Barry A. Schub, 47, to head its Retirement Services business. Schub takes the reins from NYLIM Senior Managing Director Marc Brookman, who will head a new unit focused on marketing NYLIM's institutional investment capabilities.

At E*Trade, Schub was a Vice President managing online 401(k) and 529 programs as well as retail retirement products. Previously he was President of United Asset Management Retirement Plan Services, where he oversaw all aspects of UAM’s retirement operation.

Brookman’s new team will market separate accounts, commingled funds, alternative investments and real estate investment products to a variety of institutional investors. Brookman will also be responsible for the New York Life Trust Company, where he will develop NYLIM’s High Net Worth and IRA Rollover businesses, according to the company.

Brookman had led the Retirement Services unit at NYLIM for the past several years.
