OPEN WINDOW – Diversified Lets Participants Choose Their Own Broker

August 29, 2000 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Diversified Investment Advisors will offer a self-directed brokerage 401(k) account option that will allow each plan participant to pick their own broker.

The offering, reportedly the first of its kind, will allow investors with existing brokers to retain that relationship.

Most 401(k) self-directed options require that all trades be handled through a predetermined broker selected by the provider or plan sponsor.
