Pension Reform Vote Postponed – Again
November 1, 2000 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Senate has
once again put off a floor vote on HR 2614, the tax bill that
contains pension reform legislation and several health care
provisions.
Reported by editors@plansponsor.com
It may be considered today or tomorrow.
The American Benefits Council notes that Republicans are committed to the bill in its current form, and intend to urge President Clinton to sign it despite his veto threat.
If vetoed, Congressional leaders say they will not prepare a second bill more accommodating to the President’s perspective.
