Principal Names New Retirement Services Head

July 16, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Larry Zimpleman, senior vice president at the Principal Financial Group, will take over responsibility for the group?s retirement and investor services operations, once executive vice president Richard Prey retires at the end of January 2002.

An early announcement was made in order to ensure a smooth transition, according to the group.

Zimpleman, who joined the company in 1971 as a part-time actuarial student, is currently responsible for global expansion efforts and integrating the domestic pension operation with retirement business outside of the US.

He has both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in business administration from Drake University.

The spot vacated by Zimpleman will be filled by senior vice president of retirement and investor services, Daniel Houston.
