Reliance Trust Hires Two in Retirement Strategies
Thomann joins as product manager for the group’s collective investment trust (CIT) business. Williams will lead its special fiduciary services unit. He will manage all of the special fiduciary services team’s activities and help to develop the team’s fiduciary activities, he will also work with Reliance Trust’s senior leadership to advance several of the company’s long-term initiatives and programs.
Thomann brings has than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Reliance Trust, he served as head of trust services for a national trust company affiliated with a global investment management firm, and he previously led a division of a global financial services company that provided investment management and trust services for personal trust, defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) plans, including 401(k) and other qualified ERISA plans. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Williams founded Schiff Hardin LLP’s Atlanta-based office and was a partner and group head there between 2003 and 2012. He received his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University College of Law, a Master of Arts in political science from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Denison University. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, the ESOP Association, New South Chapter of The ESOP Association, the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) and the Georgia Association of Public Pension Trustees (GAPPT).
