Retirement Program Goes to the Dogs
According to the (Twin Falls, Idaho) Times-News, last week Twin Falls County commissioners adopted the county’s first canine retirement resolution.
The resolution was needed due to the increase of the K-9 unit that is being initiated by the sheriff’s department. The newly adopted retirement plan requires homes for the retired dogs to have fenced yards, and prohibits cats or young children to live in the homes, according to the report.
Families will be able to purchase K-9 retirees from the sheriff’s office for no more than $250, according to the resolution, which gives the sheriff’s department discretion to choose the best family, according to the Times-News.
