Savings Tool Launched for America Saves Week
The online tool is being released in connection with America Saves Week 2014, which runs from February 24 to March 2. The new tool allows individuals to quickly review their savings situation by answering a simple series of yes-or-no questions and presents them with the next steps to save successfully.
“America Saves Week is the perfect opportunity for individuals to review their financial situation in order to start or increase their savings,” says Nancy Register, director of America Saves, based in Washington, D.C. “With holiday spending behind us and New Year’s resolutions still top of mind, the week is the perfect time to identify a savings goal and put a savings plan in place.”
In addition to the new assessment tool, people can visit AmericaSavesWeek.org to test their savings knowledge, read savings stories, and share their own savings goal with friends and family. In addition, people can set a saving goal and make a saving plan by taking the America Saves Pledge.
More than 1,000 organizations nationwide will be participating in America Saves Week to acknowledge the importance of saving and hold events, incentivize savings, and share savings information. “If organizations only do one thing for the week they can share the new Assess Your Savings Plan tool with their members, customers, employees, and other individuals to motivate them to save,” says Register.
Begun in 2007, America Saves Week is coordinated by America Saves and the American Savings Education Council.
