A news release said Absence Analytics and Supporthelps employers instill clear attendance policies and procedures; promote fair, consistent treatment of absent employees; make employees and managers accountable for proper attendance; and demonstrate the organization’s commitment to employee health and well-being.Sun Life’s national network of in-house Organizational Health Consultants provide in-depth analysis and benchmarking of employers’ data to help uncover and understand absence incidence and duration trends, then help implement an effective attendance management program, according to the announcement.
“With integrated data analysis, we’re looking at various data sets, all on an aggregate basis, in combination to observe trends and patterns, as well as to develop a deeper understanding of the unique elements within a particular employer’s experience. Once we understand the fundamentals, that is, the health profile of the organization, this becomes really powerful for developing strategic, prevention-focused workplace health initiatives which will deliver the return on investment plan sponsors expect,” said Lori Casselman, Assistant Vice President, Health and Productivity Solutions, Group Benefits, Sun Life Financial, in the news release.
“Many absence management programs focus on traditional absences such as those associated with disability,” said Annette Gibbs, Vice-President, Group Life and Disability Claims, Group Benefits, Sun Life Financial. “But casual absences can affect the bottom line of an organization considerably.”
