Survey: Recovery to Bring Job-Hunting Exodus
August 26, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Once the US job
market gets its sea legs back - likely within the next 12
months - lots of workers will probably head for the exits in
search of more satisfying employment, a new survey
finds.
Reported by Fred Schneyer
According to the Job Recovery Survey, produced by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and CareerJournal.com, more than eight of ten employees polled (83%) said their resumes would start flowing once the job market and economy improved.
Meanwhile, more than half the HR professionals contacted (56%) said it was extremely or somewhat likely that voluntary turnover would rise.
The survey covered 451 HR professionals and 300 managerial or executive employees.
