Sweetnam Awarded Treasury Appointment
March 30, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Bill Sweetnam has
been named attorney-advisor at the Treasury Department and is
expected to assume the role of Benefits Tax
Counsel.

In that capacity, he would serve as the Treasury Department’s chief benefits policy official, according to the American Benefits Council.
Sweetnam was previously tax counsel to former Senate Finance Committee Chair, William Roth. He has served in the legal counsel’s office at Sunoco and Towers Perrin, as well as in private practice.
He was also a former chair of the American Benefits Council?s Retirement Income Task Force.
