The Day Formerly Known as Secretary's Day

April 25, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - In honor of Administrative Professionals Day, formerly Secretary's Day, careers web site Monster.com asked respondents what they thought of the job title "secretary".

The results showed that, out of a total of 21,835 votes:

  • more than half said “the title is insignificant, but the role is priceless’,
  • just over a quarter felt the title to be demeaning and old-fashioned,
  • while one in five said “it’s appropriate. The title fits the role’.
