No two people, including identical twins, have the same fingerprints.

So, if it’s not genetics, from where do we get our fingerprints?

Fingerprints are formed when we are developing in our mother’s womb. Pressure on the fingers from touching our surroundings create what are called “friction ridges,” the faint lines we see on our fingers and toes.
