‘Give me a minute,’ or ‘Just a minute,’ are probably more commonly used than ‘Give me a moment,’ or ‘Just a moment.’

If someone said, “Give me a moment,” how long would you consider that to be? Since the phrase, “Give me a minute,” is more commonly used, many people might think a moment equals one minute.
However, according to Science Focus, the term, as a definition of time, dates back to at least the 8th Century, when the monk St. Bede used it to define a period of 90 seconds.
